Manual Starters

How Starter Motors Work
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transmits the charge from the vehicle’s battery to the starter motor.
The electrical current activates the starter motor and engages the starter drive (Bendix gear system), which then connects with the vehicle’s flywheel. As the starter motor turns, it cranks the engine to initiate the combustion process.
Once the engine is running properly, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
