Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or ignition key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, activating both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system). The engaged starter motor turns the engine’s flywheel, initiating the combustion process in petrol and diesel engines. Once the engine is running independently, the starter motor disengages from the flywheel.
